Kings Beach State Recreation Area is one of the most well known beaches in the North Lake Tahoe Area. Owned and operated by the California State Parks, Kings Beach State Recreation Area is the home to the largest sandy beach in North Lake Tahoe, 18 picnic tables, numerous BBQ’s, a childrens’ playground, a half-court basketball court, and restrooms. There are many rental companies nearby that assist you with stand up paddleboard rentals, kayak rentals, bike rentals and much more. During the summer Kings Beach State Recreation Area is the host to Music on the Beach (free concert series) and a 4th of July Celebration with fireworks.
Dogs are welcome only if they are on a leash along the sidewalks and in the picnic areas. Dogs are also welcome on Coon Street Beach just to the left of the Coon Street Pier.
